Sensei Godfrey Knowles has over 44 years of experience within the Martial Arts. As a lifelong Martial Artist he has trained in multiple disciplines just to get a better understanding in Martial Arts. He has trained in Taekwondo, Thai Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Aiki Jujutsu, Jujitsu, Judo, Boxing and Tate Jutsu. He also competed in Taekwondo Judo ,Brazilian Jujitsu and Submission Grappling. He won both gold and silver at the WKA Nationals in Submission Grappling and a silver medalist in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Grappling Classic.
Currently, Godfrey is a student of famed sword master Yuki Yoneyama of Yoneyama Ryu Tate-jutsu, and has been excepted as a personal student of Shihan Tesshin Murata, a senior student of Jinichi Kawakami, Soke, the 21st head of the Koka Ban family.
Godfrey’s ranks include Aiki Jujitsu/ Close Quarter Tactics, US Jujitsu, Kodokan Judo, Purple Belt Brazilian Jiu-jitsu & Taiho Jutsu.
Godfrey has served ten years in the United States Army as a military Policeman, and Protective Service Agent. He has conducted over 75 international protective service missions as mission leader, and daily activities as a protective service team member. After the military he worked as a Federal Background Investigator for the Department of Homeland Security and the Intelligence Community. Later he joined the Department of Treasury as a Branch Manager for Federal Background Investigations and then moved to the Internal Revenue Service.
