Alison Waugh started training in judo and ju jitsu in 2017 under the instruction of Sensei Dave Chance II at the United States Martial Arts Center. She fell in love with martial arts within a few classes and it has become one of her most fervent passions. She has been honored to receive her 2nd dan in judo and ju jitsu.
Alison first competed in spring of 2018 in Duo Self-Defense Division with fellow student Melissa Drake. Soon thereafter, she started competing in judo, ju jitsu, and grappling in local and regional competitions. Her successes at in those competitions qualified her for the World Council of Ju-Jitsu Organizations’ 2019 World Championships.
After many long months of training, she competed in grappling and ju jitsu at World Championships, earning Gold Medal in Jiu-Jitsu Grappling and Bronze Medal in Ju-Jitsu Fighting.
Since then, she has had the opportunity to compete in more local competitions. Alison has had the privilege to help teach and coach students in class and competition. She endeavors to continue furthering her own knowledge and guiding other students on their martial arts journeys.
