Sensei Daniel Schmidt Started Training with John Wadlen at Tracy's Karate in Okmulgee in 1985 and continued training with him for two years until he relocated. He started training in Shito Ryu Kempo and Goju Ryu at the Okmulgee community center under Sensei Kenji Yashero in 1987 and continued training and continued training with him through 1990 until he relocated to Sacramento, California.
Daniel reconnected with John Wadlen and his student, John Bell who started a new organization, “Lightning Karate Association”. John Bell was teaching out of the Okmulgee YMCA and John Wadlen was teaching out of the Bixby Daily YMCA. In 1990 he started training with John Bell at the to Okmulgee branch of Lightning Karate and continued until it closed in 1998.
In July 1998 he traveled to Sacramento California where he tested was promoted to Shodan in Sheto Ryu Kempo and Goju Ryu by Sensei Kenji Yashero.
In the Fall of 2000 he moved to Tahlequa, Oklahoma for college at Northeastern State University during his time there, he started started the Wesley Foundation Karate club, where he started teaching Karate classes for the Wesley Foundation Student association and continued throughout his tenure there. During that time he also started training with SDS Iki Jujitsu - in the Diato Ryu Iki-Jujitsu System, and I recieved his 3rd Degree brown under Shehan Stu and Patrick Fanning, he continued training with them until he left Tahlequa in 2008.
In 2012, Daniel met Dr. Luis Gorspe and started training with him at Southside Judo and Jujitsu in 2013.
Daniel recieved his Shodan in Japanese Jujitsu from Dr Gorspe on October 2017 through the USJA.
