Grandmaster David J. Castro; a 52 year experienced martial arts practitioner, a 42 year jujutsu instructor; a retired U.S. Army Combat Veteran, Chief Warrant Officer and retired a government employee. He became interested in Martial Arts when he was 10 years old, but I was unable to start official training until he was 12 years old. He lived in Bronx, New York on Vyse Avenue. The community lacked martial arts schools. My training started in Manhattan. What caught my interest was when there were three men across the street bullying my neighbors. He observed the whole thing while looking out my window located on the third floor. The three guys became violent and one of my neighbors started defending the rest. He chopped, punched, and kicked. Well, I had never seen that before. As he knocked out one guy with a kick, the other two ran behind a car. He just jumped over the car kicking one in the face and the other in the stomach. In a few moments all three guys were knocked out. Police arrive shortly after and arrested the three guys. He was amazed and was anxious to learn.
As he ventured into the martial arts world from 1976 to 2005, he lacked a social media presence; he slightly improved on this in 2018. It was necessary to refrain from social media to protect his military status as a United States Army Counterintelligence, Counterespionage and Counterterrorism Special Agent and Intelligence Officer. Exposure was controlled and limited to prevent complications. In 2005, the Honbu relocated from Tokyo Japan to Oahu-Hawaii; school name: Japanese Ancient Jukado & Tiger Arts LLC (JAJTA-LLC); system: Matsudaira-Ryu Nihon Jujutsu & Kyokushin-Karate (Okinawan).
