Elio Medina Montesino started his Martial Arts training in Karate on September 3, 1981 and on November 14, 1983 he stepped on a Ju-Jitsu mat, in Camaguey, Cuba under the instructions of Master Eduardo Luciano Padron and under the supervision of Master Manuel Simon Garcia Reyes.
Elio earned the Shodan degree in Ju-Jitsu in 1986 and by the end of the year 1990; he obtained the Nidan degree. Moreover, by the year 1991, he started the Sensei journey.
In 1994, he traveled to Havana, Cuba and met with Eusebio Gomez Hidalgo, Master of the style Morita Ryu Ju-Jitsu. The objective of the travel was to improve and develop his Ju-Jitsu technical knowledge.
In 1995, he was selected to be the President of the Ju-Jitsu Association of Camaguey.
In 1999, he was tasked by the National Ju-Jitsu Association of Cuba to organize the central and western provinces of Cuba with the aim of expanding the Ju-Jitsu across these provinces.
In 1999, he was elected by the National Ju-Jitsu Association of Cuba to serve as Vice-President of the Cuban Ju-Jitsu Association.
In 2001, he received the Sandan degree in recognition of his hard work and dedication.
In March 2003, in Havana, Cuba, he was a member of the First Cuban National Martial Arts convection.
In January 2005, in Havana, Cuba, he earned the Yondan degree through the examination of the Federated Ranks Commission (National Martial Arts Committee of Ranks).
In June 2005, in Camaguey, Cuba, he was a member of the First Provincial Ju-Jitsu Workshop "The Power of the Word".
In 2005, in Havana, Cuba, he was a member of the Second Cuban National Martial Arts convection.
In October 2006, in Havana, Cuba, he earned the Godan degree through the examination of the Federated Ranks Commission (National Martial Arts Committee of Ranks).
In 2007, in Holguin, Cuba, he was a member of the Provincial Martial Arts Convection.
In 2008, in Camaguey, Cuba, he was a member of the Provincial Ju-Jitsu Convection.
In 2009, in Camaguey, Cuba, he was a member of the Provincial Mixed Martial Arts Convection.
In 2010, in Camaguey, he was a member of the Provincial Martial Arts Convection.
In April 2012, in Havana, Cuba, he earned the Rokudan degree, including the Master category through the examination of the Federated Ranks Commission (National Martial Arts Committee of Ranks).
