Heather Bess started her martial arts training in 2008 in Goju Ryu Karate and has continued ever since in it. Her first introduction to Jujitsu was in 2009 and officially began that journey in 2012. During her martial arts journey, she has earned several State and National Karate Championships along with a full contact fighting background in MMA & Kickboxing. She has training in various arts including Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate, Small Circle Jujitsu, US-Jujitsu, Judo, Brazilian JiuJitsu, Hawaiian Kenpo, Modern Arnis and Okinawa Kobudo.
Sensei Heather Bess is a member of the USA-TKJ and a member of the USA JIU-JITSU, USJJF's National BJJ - Grappling Committee.
