Date of Birth, May 21, 1972 in the city of Holguín, Cuba.
Sensei Martinez's early childhood took place in the city of Camagüey where my parents lived. Then when my mother died we moved again to Holguín, where I began my studies and practice of Judo with Master Alejandro Amores, there I participated in different local and provincial competitions, where after three or four years I obtained the yellow belt.
The family returned to Camaguey in 1985, where apart from Judo I began to practice Taekwondo and Karate Do, in the latter I reached the blue belt and little by little I began to discover Ju Jutsu by friends who practiced it practically in a hidden way. It was not authorized by the Cuban government or approved by the sports authorities. Already in 1988 I officially started my Jujutsu classes with Master Osvaldo González Calcines.
He obtained the Shodan degree on October 12, 1997, under the direction of Master Osvaldo González Calcines. During a period the classes were not stable as a result of my political difficulties against the government, but we always practiced when conditions allowed.
In 2008, Sensei Martinez traveled to the United States and in 2009 he rejoined the practices, this time under the direction of Master José Cuspineda, studying Kansen ryu. During that time he was evaluated and approved my degree in addition to obtaining certificates of participation and different seminars and improvement courses.
Later Sensei Martinez started studying Tenjin Shinyo Ryu at Professor Roberto Álvarez's dojo. During this time he met Master Dionisio de la Torre, Jr, who introduced me to the different federations that existed in the United States and joined the practices in the Joshinkan dojo of Master Rafael Delgado and at that time he became a member for life of USJJF.
Master Delgado closes his dojo and continues practicing this time and again at Sentoki Judo Club, under the direction of Master Dionisio de la Torre, Jr. and in 2016 he was awarded the Sandan. Due to his participation in seminars and courses in 2019 he was promoted to Yondan.
