Mr. James Oh's martial arts journey started from early childhood from his father in traditional Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido starting from the age of 2. After the passing of his father at age 11, he began studying under Grand Master Jason Lee in Jin Moo Kwan Martial Arts which encompassed the traditional arts of Moo Duk Kwon Tae Kwon Do, WTF Sport Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Jujitsu, Wing Chun, Weaponry, and Muay Thai Kick Boxing.
He earned the degree of 4th Dan from Grand Master Lee before moving on towards his martial arts journey. After studying traidtional martial arts for some time he started to learn what is now heavily popularized in todays world of Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He's learned from various instructors in both Mixed Martial Arts and Brazlian Jiu-Jitsu eventually earning a bluebelt. After being born and raised in the state of Michigan for over 25 years, he had an opportunity to move to San Jose California where his martial arts journey would continue.
He started to devote a large part of his time learning the art of Muay Thai Kickboxing at the Academy of Self Defense. From there he was under the tutelage of Kru Jivoni while still learning NoGi Brazlian Jiu-Jitsu. After about 5 years learning Muay Thai and NoGi Brazlian Jiu-Jitsu he decided that it would be best to return to his traditonal roots and started learning Danzan Ryu Jujitsu under Prof Richard Bunch.
