James McDonald started martial arts training in Georgia at age 13 in the style of Isshinryu
Where he trained until the school closed and his instructor moved out of town.
It was then he located a Taekwondo school nearby and started training there in the ITF style of TKD again training with them until they closed their doors. He then continued training at his local (ATA) Taekwondo school, eventually earning a black belt in ITF style Taekwondo.
James continued training diligently fro several years even through a complete restructuring of the ATA in which they changed all the curriculum from ITF style to their own style of Songahm in which he also earned a black belt.
After leaving GA and moving to NC, he located a local TKD school where he continued his training for a couple more years until he joined the military, where for the next 20+ years he bounced around the globe putting his martials arts training on hold while he pursued his degree. Eventually obtaining an MBA and later after retiring his DBA.
Even with over 30 years of training and experience, James continues to seek out more training when and where he can. Having obtained black belts in two styles of TKD, Training in WWII era H2H Combatives, A Graduate of the C.O.B.R.A fighting systems (Law enforcement training system) as well as training in various other arts to include Shotokan, Kungfu, Irish stick fighting, Cane self-defense.
