John Barbezat was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. His first exposure to the martial arts world was through his father, John, who is a 2nd degree black belt in Goju Karate. While John didn’t start his martial arts career until his teenage years, he was always interested and intrigued at what it had to offer.
John was a baseball player and basketball player in high school but when an injury cut his baseball career short, he was looking for something to fill the void and picked up martial arts with Sensei Stephen Moliterno of Kihen-Ryu JuJitsu in 2009 and has been with him ever since. Currently, John is a professional fire lieutenant in the state of New York.
