Professional retired federal investigator and personal security specialist with over twenty-five years of experience in global counter-threat operations, and 39 years of martial arts training and instruction experience.
Mr. Sian is the current head instructor for Full Contact Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Spectrum Martial Arts in Minot, ND. Mr. Sian began training in Karate in 1984, at age 11, under Sung 'Mark' Cho, eventually earning a 3rd Dan in 2007. He currently continues his training in full-contact karate under USA-IFK Black Belt Master Dave Sheets. From 1993 to 1995, he studied North American Tae Kwon Do, earning his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1995 under Sensei Tom Ziedlik. Mr. Sian was promoted to the rank of Ni Dan, 2nd Degree Black Belt, in May 2016 in the style of Goju Ryu under Master Stefano Cianelli. In 2003 he began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a Black Belt under 3rd Degree Black Belt Coach Ray Price (SBG), Sloth Jiu-Jitsu, Reno, NV.
Mr. Sian is a retired military officer and federal law enforcement Special Agent with over two decades of experience in counter-terrorism operations worldwide, with combat tours in Desert Storm, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq (4 times), and Afghanistan (3 times). He is a board member and senior instructor for the Intercept – Stabilize –Resolve (ISR) Matrix, a certified Advanced Military/Law Enforcement Krav Maga Instructor with Krav Maga Worldwide and holds a basic certification in Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT TM).
